Summary

Chapter One: “I Get Flushed” opens as Percy, the narrator, wishes that his frequent, world-saving exploits could get him out of his senior year of high school. It is revealed that he lost his junior year due to magical amnesia and only Alternative High (AHS) was willing to work with him to graduate. Then, he is called into the counselor’s office where he meets a sea spirit, Eudora, who reveals that he needs three divine letters of recommendation to get into New Rome University in-spite of his work. Suddenly, Percy’s father, Poseidon, calls Eudora and agrees to meet with Percy, opening up a whirlpool to flush him into the Atlantic Ocean.
