Summary

In Chapter 31, "This Summer," Alex realizes that something is wrong with Poppy when they get back from the party. They talk about the engagement ring he bought for Sarah. He says that he ended the relationship because he realized that it was Poppy that he loved. They profess their love for each other and go to the rehearsal dinner. Poppy talks to Alex’s father; the rest of the family arrives.

In Chapter 32, "This Summer," Alex and Poppy attend the wedding and sleep together afterward. The next morning they go to the airport, and Poppy admits that she is paying for the trip.
