Summary

In Chapter 6, "This Summer," Poppy tries to convince her boss, Swapna, to choose Palm Springs as the magazine’s summer issue destination. While Poppy presents an argument that supports her choice, she really chose it because Alex’s younger brother, David, is getting married there. Alex has invited her to the wedding and agreed to go early on vacation with her there prior to the event. Swapna considers the idea but rejects it in the end. She wants Poppy to go to Santorini. Poppy tells her that her co-worker, Garrett, can go there. She wants to take a real vacation, for herself. Swapna agrees. Poppy thinks that her trip with Alex will be better this way because their problems began when they started combining their vacations with the trips she took for work.
