Chapters 30-32 Summary

In chapter 30, Chee and Mary are in a remote area of the reservation searching for the location of one of the roustabout's burial site. On the way, Chee talks about the case, suggesting that the person behind the explosion has to be either Sena or Vines, but Vines did not come to the area until several years later. However, Chee believes that Vines is connected and something in the box proves it. A short time later, it begins to snow as they reach the area shortly before nightfall. As Mary and Chee climb up a canyon to the burial spot, where Chee not only finds another mole amulet but evidence of bone cancer.
