Summary

Emily only enjoyed spending time with Marianne when Marianne was telling her about her childhood traumas and even began dating a boy to pass the time. Emily asked Marianne to bring her to her childhood home and the site of the stories she had been telling her. Marianne agrees but Emily is afraid of the dark and unfamiliar surroundings when they arrive and the flashlight’s battery dies. When Marianne realizes that they are stranded by the house with no way to get back to the city before the next morning, she feels regret for bringing Emily there. She is the only one responsible for lighting candles and trying to find a way to warm the house while Emily is essentially helpless.
