Manhattan

Manhattan is the borough of New York City where Peak lives with his mother Teri, stepfather Rolf, and twin sisters Patrice and Paula. Peak and his mother moved here after she and Rolf started dating and decided to get married. Having grown up in a log cabin "in the wilderness" for some time, Peak initially resents this move to the bustling urban metropolis (35). He has since attempted to acclimate to the environment. However, because he loves climbing and New York does not offer ready access to the great outdoors, Peak spends his time scaling skyscrapers instead of mountains.

Peak is forced to leave Manhattan when he gets arrested for climbing the Woolworth Building.
