Thistle Grove

Thistle Grove is the name of the town that is the overall setting for the main story line of this novel. The town is filled with magic which comes from the lake. While there are four large families in town who are witches, there are also people in town who have no magical powers and have no knowledge that the magic even exists. The town has also become a tourist destination with witch-themed stores and attractions.

Tomes and Omens

Tomes and Omens is the name of James Harlow's bookstore. It has two stories and seems typical of the kind of bookstore that would be in the tourist town, though it is also a repository for the history of witches in Thistle Grove.
