Summary

Chapter 4 is titled "Fried Cake and Revelations.” Emmy is fighting a hangover when she wakes the following morning. She thinks over the enjoyable talk with Talia the previous night but then rushes to meet Linden Thorn, her best friend. Emmy is happy to have Linden hug her. Linden uses her healing powers to take the edge off Emmy's hangover. They talk about Linden's family, including her twin brother Rowan and parents Aspen and Gabrielle. Emmy feels there is something wrong when Linden says she is taking a break from dating. Though Emmy has good friends in Chicago, she knows she and Linden share a special bond because they grew up together.
