Chapter 24, Connections Missed and Made Summary
The proposed raid on Camp-18 is to be led by the French in much the same way they obliterated the French terrorist camp. A sandstorm delays the operation. Then, while Ryan and Cantor are watching real time, the satellite infrared reveals a nearly empty camp and no apparent operation. It turns out that the French surprised a military exercise and had to abandon the raid. It appears, however, that it is too late anyway. The ULA camp is empty and Ryan feels the fear of the hunted. If they do not know where the ULA is, then the element of surprise is on the side of the terrorists now. Security for the upcoming royal visit to the Ryan's house is a serious business.
