Summary
Chapter 7 opens with a to-do list entry that reads, “Calm down, count to ten (or then thousand).” Emily takes Bev to dialysis each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Patina texts a smiley face to her Bev first thing on those days. She briefly explains the process, which takes several hours and leaves Bev very tired. She spends a lot of time resting after the procedures. Bev texts smiley faces back, and Patina feels those are important. The English teacher, Mr. Winston, is teaching about a poem called the Charge of the Light Brigade.
