Mia still can't get in touch with Michael. Lilly insists that she is keeping Mia's short story in the magazine because it is the best piece. The next morning, Mia borrows her mother's credit card again to send Michael a giant cookie to his dorm room with "Sorry" written on it in frosting.

Lilly is being combative with Mia. While she might subconsciously be doing it, Lilly is trying to get back at Mia for stealing the leading role in the musical. It also seems as if Michael might be avoiding Mia. This is likely because he wants to break up with her but doesn't quite know how to do it.
