Chapters 31 through 35 Summary

In chapter thirty-one, Kira wakes in a lab, strapped to a table and surrounded by medical equipment. Samm says Kira came with him willingly but one of the Partials says Samm's job wasn't to bring a "volunteer." Kira says she's begun research on the Partials but Heron says the medical technology of humans is old and refuses to believe there might be a way for the humans to help the Partials.

In chapter thirty-two, Kira listens to the Partials talking and realizes they are about to inject her with something, though she isn't certain what that is. One of the Partials, Dr. Morgan, says Kira will likely become sick very quickly. The minutes tick by and Kira shows no reaction. Kira talks to Dr. Morgan while they wait.
