Chapters 17 through 19 Summary

In chapter seventeen, a hearing takes place at the Senate with the Partial on display. There are only a few people present and the Senators say they are going to keep the Partial a secret. Jayden and the other military personnel are charged with disobeying orders. Jayden, as the commander, is dishonorably discharged and the others are chastised. Kira is quizzed by one of the officials named Senator Weist who asks Kira why she went looking for a Partial and what she expects to learn. She says she'd been desperate to find a cure for RM because of Madison's pregnancy, and that she'd been denied permission to go looking for a Partial.
