Summary
Fabien cleans his apartment and looks longingly at a photo of Sandrine that he is holding in hand. He tries to write some new pages to fill in the old pages of his novel, but can think of nothing and leaves and visiting his father, Clemente, who owns a tourist boat, Rose de Paris. They discuss how the business is not going well. Fabien tells his father how he is going to the Frida Kahlo exhibit, and his father suspects it is because Fabien wants to bump into Sandrine. Fabien denies this, but confesses that he is, in fact, going because Sandrien used to complain about how he does nothing with his life, at which point Clemente advises for Fabien to “let [Sandrine] go” (53).
