Summary

Nell, a 26-year-old single woman is on the London Underground, on her way to Paris for a romantic weekend when her handsome and smooth-talking boyfriend, Pete, texts her that he is stuck at work and will not be able to join her. The weekend is important to Nell, because it is her first romantic getaway, she has foregone an annual girls’ weekend, and she has never been to Paris. Believing that Pete will be joining her when she gets there, Nell continues her journey and arrives in the city with limited French, taking a cab ride to the Hotel. At the Hotel, she discovers that the room she has reserved has been double-booked, being reserved also for an American woman who is standing right behind her in the hotel lobby.
