Flushing, Queens
Flushing is the neighborhood in Queens, New York where Tony, Kim, and Tammy live when they first move to the United States. Although Tony hoped to be able to live in Manhattan, he soon realizes the cost of living in that borough is too high. For several years, the family can only afford a basement level apartment in Queens. When the family later moves to Westchester, Tony and Kim are happy.
