Chapters 19 and 20 Summary

It's the question and answer portion of the pageant. Katie listens as Sidney recites what true love is. When Mrs. Hayes asks Katie why she likes quahogs, Katie starts with her rehearsed answer but then stops and starts to tell the truth. She admits she hates the mollusks and the football team. She tells Seth that his brother got what he deserved for cheating. Seth breaks up with her. Katie goes to on to admit she is the one that painted, "Tommy Sullivan is a freak" on the gym wall. Katie apologizes to Tommy and she apologizes for ruining the pageant, jumps off stage and rides off on her bike.

Katie is talking to Jill and Shaniqua at the restaurant. They're asking about her and Seth really being broken up and what her parents said about her confession. Katie says Seth...
