The Cure

The Cure is what people are given to prevent them from falling in love.

The Procedure

The procedure is what cures people. It is never described in detail but it is implied that it is a surgery that alters or removes part of the brain that regulates love and emotions. When the procedure does not work properly people become angry and overly violent or deranged.

Invalids

The Cureds calls the others the Invalids.

DFA

The DFA is the part of the government that oversees obedience to the laws surrounding the cure. DFA stands for Deliria-Free America.

Wilds

The Wilds are the incorporated spaces between city borders. They are old cities and towns that have been bombed and then abandoned.

Scavengers

The Scavengers are a rogue group of people who cause problems in the cities and at demonstrations. The Scavengers have not been cured.
