Summary
In Chapter 27, when Dominika arrived at the safe house it was almost imperceptible, but Dominika could tell something had happened. Dominika insisted that she be told what was going on. As soon as Benford asked Dominika if she knew Solovyov, Nate knew what they had in mind. Dominika recognized the name from her interviews and realized almost as soon as Benford mentioned his name that Solovyov was LYRIC. Benford told her that Zyuganov was working on uncovering LYRIC’s identity so they already knew they were going to lose him as a source. They wanted her to recommend, based on her interview, that she suspected LYRIC was the mole. Dominika refused to put another person’s life in danger but they convince her that LYRIC will never be in danger because he will have already been smuggled out of the country.
