Chapter 14 Summary
Pitt and, Al Giordino, his friend since high school, take off in a C54. Pitt leaves Giordino at the controls, and goes back to the fuselage to talk to the twenty men who volunteered for the mission. These volunteers are the skeleton crew for the submarine, plus Navy Seals in case they meet any opposition. During communications with Hunter,e communication is intercepted by Delphi. Pitt, as well as Hunter, knows what has happened. Pitt begins to have second thoughts about the whole operation. Giordino convinces Pitt that there is no way Delphi would think they would ditch an aircraft to enter the sub and take the sub back to base. Pitt and Giordino set the plane down on the ocean in the fog bank. The men prepare themselves to leave the plane and find the submarine.
