Summary
The novel begins as the omniscient third-person narrator introduces us to Mia. It was spring time in London. Mia was an actress, who was married to an actor named David, and had an agent named Creston. She had lately become more famous than her husband, but he was upstaging her in real life by having an affair, or so Mia thought. She had not spoken to him for two days and he was not answering his phone since leaving a message on her voicemail telling her that he was going to the country. They had recently shot a film together, but working together had not fixed the problems in their relationship. She had confided to Creston about her fears in regards to David’s faithfulness, and had revealed that she still loved David even though he did not love her any more. At...
