Summary
Lark is wounded, but not as severely as Ada. The gang takes them back to the Hole in the Wall. Agnes Rose is worried about the Kid not sleeping at night and lighting her own arm on fire while Ada and Lark were in Casper. Cassie becomes angry at Lark's presence but the Kid convinces her that it is safer to keep him. Texas tends to Ada's wound and Ada to Lark's because he does not want to undress in front of anyone else. Ada discovers the horror of Lark's castration. They make love in a way that is new and blissful to Ada.
