Part 7, Chapter 41 Summary

Jamie continues to heal and sits in the corner of his little room inspecting his injured hand. The fingers are definitely not the same, considering the damage that had been done. Claire apologizes for not being able to set his fingers so that they will be perfect. She didn't have to apologize, but did anyway. Jamie tells her that he is thankful to God that he still has two hands and is a whole man because of Claire. She suddenly remembers that in this year they would amputate a man's limb to save from infection. It had completely evaded her mind at the time, so she never considers it. She shares with him that in her time they use medicine to stop the infections, not amputation.
