Part 3, Chapter 14 Summary

Claire awakes the next morning with her head pounding. Murtagh comes to her door first; but she closes her eyes again and he leaves. Later a woman comes in and prepares her for her wedding. She bathes her with a wet cloth and pulls her hair up in a bun. Ned Gowan and Murtagh come in later, and both give her looks of disappointment. She does not care. She only lays back on the bed and falls asleep, once everyone leaves the room.

The entrance of the innkeeper, his son, his wife, Murtagh and Gowan, awakens Claire again. Flowers in abundance are brought to her room, as well as a dress for her to wear to the wedding. The town seamstress is there to sew the dress to make it fit. Once Claire is all dressed and properly fitting the gown...
