Religion

This novel is about an Episcopal priest, therefore it is implied that it will contain a great deal of religious overtone. This includes the fact that Father Tim's dog is trained to obey when he hears Scripture being recited, the fact that Father Tim often prays with his wife in order to help them make every day decisions, and the fact that Father Tim turns to a higher power when he gains knowledge he knows can hurt people and he does not know what to do with it. However, the religion in this novel goes much further than just a characterization of one person who populates its pages.

Father Tim does not push religion on people the way some Christians do. Father Tim prays with his congregants, but he does not force his opinions on those who do not attend his church. Instead, Father Tim is a friend...
