Chapter 19 Summary
Fernbank. Father Tim shows Andrew, his new bride, and his new brother-in-law around Fernbank, pleased with the reactions he receives. Andrew tells him how he met his new wife and her brother in a restaurant they ran in the village where he was buying antiques. Andrew has bought Fernbank with both the intention of living in it and opening a small Italian restaurant his wife and brother-in-law will run, making Father Tim happy with his decisions. Later, Father Tim returns home with a check for fifteen thousand dollars in his pocket, a refund on the price of the rectory. Bishop Stuart Cullen comes for a visit. Father Tim tells him what he knows about Mack's campaign and asks what he should do. Stuart advises him to keep the information to himself.
