Chapters 9-11 Summary
Life in the Fast Lane. In exchange for living in the basement apartment, Harley has repaired both Father Tim and Cynthia's cars, giving Father Tim's old Buick more horsepower. At his office, Father Tim gets a letter from an old congregant that his secretary found on the Internet for him. After work, Father Tim takes Dooley over to Betty's house to tear down an old shed. Afterward, Father Tim talks to Pauline about Jessie again, walking away satisfied that she could care for the child if they were to find her. The following day, Father Tim learns that Buck Leeper, a construction supervisor he worked with on Hope House, is available to come to Mitford to work on the construction of new Sunday school classrooms in the attic of Lord's Chapel.
