Summary
In Chapter Nine, Z hides the potion in their bag and heads back to Mrs. Dunnigan’s apartment. Once there, they try to help with the dishes when Tommy calls. Z decides not to tell Tommy that they are not friends and agrees to talk. Tommy says that his dad is acting a little weird, but Tommy himself sounds strange and giggly. He says his father locked his mother out of their room for leaving a small mess in the car, but then Tommy says he does not want to talk about his parents. He says he has been reading the books and asks Z if the potion worked, surprising them, as Tommy should not have known about it.
