Chapter 39

In Chapter 39, Emma tells Evan that she hated her mother, and she is glad that she is dead. She felt close to Jonathan because he understood being tormented and did not judge her when she said she hated her mother. She wants Evan to hate her mother as much as she hates her. She tells Evan that she almost gave up and walked into the ocean to end it all. Evan tells her to let him love her. Evan tells her that he loves her, and they have sex on the beach.
