Summary
Chapter 24
In Chapter 24, Evan makes Emma get out of bed. He takes her to Nate’s house where he has set up an easel so that she can paint. He believes that this will help her heal from her mother’s words. Cole does not know that Emma paints because she has not painted since being in California. Painting helped her work out her grief when her father died. Sara and Evan wait for Emma to emerge from the room.
Emma finished and while she showers, Sara and Evan look in to see what she has painted. She painted the oak tree in Evan’s backyard and the swing he made for her. It is the one place that will always be there for her.
