Summary
John Glynn and his roommates are hosting a Christmas party at their apartment in Tribeca. John is single and at the age where his friends are beginning to pair off and get married. He dreams of falling in love and having a meaningful romantic relationship of his own, but he also struggles with anxiety and self-doubt. At the party, John's college friend Mike first floats the idea of John joining in on a houseshare in Montauk that coming summer. A party guest named Frank hits on John, but John is straight and not interested. John's parents are in town and stop by the party; it is established that they have a close and loving relationship both with each other and with their only child.
Shortly after Christmas, John's beloved grandmother Kicki dies. John is filled with grief and remembers his happy childhood...
