Summary

Lyudmila puts a tail on Ruth Macallister and her husband. Vashnikov calls Lyudmila into his office. She neither likes nor trusts him. She does not trust anyone except her daughter. Vashnikov tells Lyudmila that Kedrov will be the Fox’s driver while they are in Moscow. Vashnikov gives her a hotel room for the Foxes. Lyudmila composes a cable for the KGB operative, SALT, in which she asks for Donna Anna Orlovskaya to be apprehended.

One month later, Ruth lands in Russia. She and Fox have gone over all the details many times, getting her prepared for the extraction mission. Fox tells her that there will be watchers on the plane and everywhere they go in Russia. There will be bugs everywhere.
