Summary
Karen wonders if future Jacob will be interested in politics, and explains that her interest in politics stemmed from her father’s history lessons, and the fact that she was one of the poorer kids in her area. She talks about running for school elections and losing every time, and deciding that she would make a better campaign manager than candidate. She goes on to talk about how she graduated from SUNY in 1992 and went on to become a “Clinton girl” (208) working on Bill Clinton’s campaign. She respected Clinton and thinks of him now as an improved version of Ace. Karen talks about the job and how she had felt a part of something bigger, having a close bond with the other people she worked with.
