Summary

Karen tells Jacob that even when she was going through treatment and was very ill, she wanted to keep working because it gave her a sense of purpose. She recounts when she was on the Wallace campaign and their opponent (who was very anti-abortion) had a teenage daughter who had had an abortion just before her prom. Karen leaked this information to a reporter which tarnished the opponent’s campaign and Wallace won the election. She recounts this story to show how strong and able she used to be whereas recently she feels she is unable to be a good enough advocate for her clients.Karen calls Ace at 6am, and they talk briefly about their opponent Beverly Hernandez, and how she had cancer too.
