Point of View
Our Dark Duet is in past-tense, third-person limited point of view. The narration closely follows several main characters in different chapters, including Kate, August, Sloan, and the Chaos Eater. The limited perspective is significant because it allows each character to express their observations and reflections to the reader.
Yet, the narrating characters do not know what is happening to the other characters that are in different settings than them. For example, in the beginning of the novel, Kate is in Prosperity while August is in Verity. They each narrate several chapters, but have no contact with one another.
