Summary
Since Part Two gets a little more complex in terms of its location in the timeline, Dana’s chapters will continue to be in the past tense to represent the fact that she is recalling these moments. Marion and Ivy will be written in the present tense for consistency and to represent the shift between first-person and third-person narration.
Part Two, Chapter 31 opens with Marion plunging through the portal, happy to see Dana break the mirror because Marion believed she would die. Instead, she becomes trapped in a recreation of Astrid's home. Over time, Marion loses her dreams and sanity, replacing rage with a desire for revenge. She is able to take a small amount of Dana's dried blood from their necklaces and creates a scrying spell.
