Summary
In Act 4, "The Death of Alexander Borisovich," Chapter 6, Vinod had a dream about Senderovsky. Senderovsky told Vinod his girlfriend was there. Karen entered, took "his cheeks with burning hands and kissed him" (273). They were both still young and innocent. While walking on the "streets of the Meat-packing District,” Karen told Vinod she wanted to go to his "place and fuck" (273, 274). In another dream, while "crawling up the stairs,” Vinod encountered Masha (275). Though she was "speaking in Russian," Vinod understood her (275). Vinod asked for her medical opinion. He then tried to finish climbing the stairs. Masha told him it was "not safe” (277).
In Chapter 7, Ed and Dee lay "in each other's arms" talking (278). Dee said Karen had given them "permission to leave" because there "wasn't much more" they could do for Vinod (278). Outside, "a dark truck was headed for the bungalows" (280). Everyone ran...
