Summary

In Act 4, "The Death of Alexander Borisovich," Chapter 1, national tensions swelled. Despite these conflicts, Senderovsky's "estate buzzed with . . . activity" (220). The Actor had left but the "seven remaining colonists became closer" (220). Dee felt abandoned by the Actor. The mysterious footage of them "having sex down the road" went viral and amplified her despair (221). She tried escaping her online disgrace by investing in her friendship with Ed. Ed listened to her talk about writing and the cultural climate. One night they drove into town. While out, they confessed their love for one another. After kissing, they raced back to the colony, desperate to have sex.
