Summary

Between Chapters Thirteen and Fourteen, there is a Ghost Story from Camille’s perspective. Camille reflects on when Mac was young and only had access to cheap foods. Camille invited him in to eat her food, and the two developed a relationship. Camille realized that Mac’s mother abandoned him and took him under her wing. Mac took a restaurant job in Charleston when he grew up, then moved back to Mallow Island to care for Camille after a fall.
