Structure
“Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World” is a non-fiction book written by sociologist, professor and author Adam Grant. “Originals” is written partly in the style of an instructional or informative text, and partly in the style of a self-help book, complete with a list of actions the author recommends the reader take at the end of the book. “Originals” is divided into eight chapters and an afterword, with a short foreword by Sheryl Sandberg.
Each chapter of “Originals” starts with an anecdote that illustrates its main topic and is then divided into between four and eight sub-sections, with a wrap up at the end that ties them all together and discusses how each point relates to the case study’s success.
