Artificial Intelligence
Although artificial intelligence is a promising field, this novel suggests that there are also aspects of technology that are dangerous if not handled properly. Winston’s ability to fool Langdon with his human-like qualities is a sign of how far Kirsch has come with artificial intelligence. While computers have many qualities that make them superior to humans, like their persistence, computers do not have the ability to make moral decisions.
Winston’s ability to fool Langdon demonstrates how far Kirsch has brought the field of artificial intelligence. Langdon could not believe that he was fooled by the technology. “The man’s diction and grammar were perfect, and with the exception of a slightly awkward laugh, he was as elegant a speaker as Langdon had ever encountered.
