Summary
In Cyprus, Chinonso finds in his bag a letter written by Ndali and left there for him. In the letter, Ndali expresses her undying love for Chinonso and explains that she loves him because of his own deep capacity for love, both towards people and animals. At the end of the letter, Ndali writes that she will wait for him and be faithful to him until he returns to Nigeria. Chinonso feels strengthened and enlivened by the letter. In Chapter 16, Chinonso decides that the best course of action would be to find a way to raise enough money to buy back his poultry farm. Chinonso phones a friend in Nigeria and asks them to begin negotiating with the person to whom Chinonso sold the farm. Fiona then contacts Chinonso and says that she would like to see him.
