Summary

In Orbit 5, ascending, Anton dreams about a photograph taken by the astronaut Michael Collins of the lunar module carrying Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, with the Earth in the background. Anton reflects on the claim that Michael Collins was the only human being not in the photograph. Elsewhere, Nell reflects on how she and Shaun have witnessed the same things as each other and whereas Nell has interpreted these things as proof that there is no God, Shaun has interpreted them as proof that there is a God. Shaun tells Nell about watching a video of the first moon landing with his father and grandfather as a child and that he didn’t like it.
