Summary
In Orbit 4, ascending, Shaun looks at the Earth and wonders where the borders are between Serbia, Hungary and Romania. He reflects on how borders between countries mean nothing from space. Anton and Roman conduct experiments in the lab using human cells donated by volunteers. The fact that the cells come from real people leaves Anton in awe but Roman is unmoved by the fact. The narration explores the temptation to believe, from this vantage point, that the universe revolves around the Earth, despite scientific knowledge to the contrary. The narration goes on to discuss humankind’s urge to look for signs of life elsewhere in the universe.
