Summary
The author begins this chapter with a series of anecdotes discussing how she and Dave brought humor into their relationship, and particularly into their wedding (she includes the vows they made to each other during their ceremony). She follows that anecdote with others about how she slowly began to rearrange the physical circumstances of her life (including the giving away of Dave’s clothes) and how, at one point during that process, Dave’s mother Paula promised to be there when she (the author) remarried, which Paula seemed to think was an inevitability.
