Summary

It is 2007 and 36-year-old Belle McElroy is attending the Christmas party for her high-powered Wall Street investment firm, Feagin Dixon. Belle feels slightly out of place, since she is carrying bags full of Christmas gifts for her three young children, and intends to shake a few hands before quickly leaving. After briefly talking with a number of men in the firm, including her boss, Simon Greene, Belle goes to the restroom and washes her hands alongside the severe Amy Yapp, as they listen to two younger women in stalls discuss an exclusive afterparty. When Belle emerges back to the party, a number of the men are playing catch with a Barbie doll that Belle had purchased for her daughter. Belle angrily wrestles it away from one of the more obnoxious men, Stone Dennis.
