Chapter 21-22 Summary

As the plane nears the water, Richard and Leslie prepare to jump. When they jump, Richard finds that there is no water. They are falling through the air over Los Angeles and suddenly find themselves back in the Growly's cockpit, piloting the plane over Los Angeles. They figure that they have made it back from the alternate world. Richard contacts the flight controller and receives instructions. There is nothing about them having disappeared.

They continue to fly to Santa Monica, talking about what had happened and discuss whether everyone is some aspect of themselves. They land at Santa Monica, a little surprised that everything seems so normal. Their plane is serviced by a young man named Dave. Richard thinks of all they could tell him about his future.
