Chapter 7 Summary
Back in the plane, Pye yields the controls. Leslie comments on the hard life of the girl and Pye remarks that she made her own choices and received the rewards and they are all a part of what makes Leslie Leslie. Pye asks if Leslie would like to try again and Leslie begins to give her directions. When they land, Leslie finds herself on an airbase. They are at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona.
An Air Police jeep drives through them, since the driver can't see them, but a young man in a flight suit does. The young man is a young Second Lieutenant Richard D. Bach and Richard introduces himself. Richard tells the young man, who just graduated from flight school, to leave the Air Force.
