Eudora Welty
Eudora Welty is born and raised in a house on North Congress Street in Jackon, Mississippi as the oldest of three children. As a result of her father's knowledge of meteorology, Eudora develops a strong meteorological sensibility, and the atmosphere takes an influential role in her writing. From youth, Eudora Welty receives educational gifts which represent their father's beliefs in progress and the future and are given as a means of preparing his children.
