Summary
Don goes on to say that Solomon needed life force for his spell to work, but he could not kill anyone. However, Morghul was a figment of a child’s imagination. Turpin cuts them off and Tanya finds Thingy in the floorboards, puts it on her bed, and forgives it. The group heads to the Wishing Tree. Don says Solomon used an ancient, dark magic ritual to draw Morghul from Ratty who was supposed to forget once it was over. Solomon refused to stop, even when Ratty’s life was at stake. Turpin overpowered Morghul, but lost her powers in the struggle. Don is worried that using Morghul in the spell would damage Ratty. The Wishing Tree reveals an hourglass hidden within itself; a wish Don made. When Tanya grabs it, she is pulled into the memory of the ritual...
